Reading Slump?

So I’m currently experiencing a reading slump. I'm just not in the mood to read :(
Reading A Game of Thrones and loving it, but I just can't get myself to read.

How do you get yourself out of a reading slump :)

I'll usually leave it for a day or two, concentrate on a couple of other things on my to do list and not force it, that just makes it harder.
Then I'll usually pick up a well read/favourite book of mine (usually HP) to read because I know it so well that it doesn't take any effort or work and I can just ease myself into it until it comes easier and I can move onto the other books I want to read.

Gosh, I dunno! I just had one of those myself. Depends on the reason you're in one I guess. I was in my slump bc I started one too many books that I wasn't interested and forced myself to read them. Maybe you should just read something you like like Kayleigh suggested and it will get you in the mood.

I picked up Dash and Lily's Book of Dares when I couldn't read anything else and it got me back in the swing of things!

By the way, your blog truly rocks my socks.

Last week I found that I wasn't quite ready to reread Pride and Prejudice, even though I love it, and so I didn't read for a couple of days. I managed to get back into the swing of things by picking up a completely unexpected novel, one that was both outside of my reading schedule and in a genre that I don't usually read, Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler. I read it, another book that I had planned for the week and then plowed through my reread of Austen's masterpiece in under 24 hours. I think for me it was about breaking out of the blogging box for once. Maybe try a book that you never thought you'd be interested in. Even if you don't like it (and I certainly didn't like Kessler's book), maybe just taking a step away from the routine will help get you out of your slump.

Good luck!

I don't read for a couple of days but I do pick up one book I know I will love for sure! That usually helps me. Sometimes, we read so much and things get repeatative that we need a break!

Usually I'll just do other things and not force it. Eventually I find myself wanting to read again. If I'm currently reading (trying to read) a book, I'll just put it down and say "I don't have to read this. So if I could read anything I want, what would it be?". That sometimes fixes it too.
