Planning a Giveaway - Need your opinion

 Photobucket

Hi guys!

So I'm planning a 100 follower giveaway (74 atm). Now as I'm in South Africa its going to cost me quite a bit to send all the books internationally. So I'm thinking of clearing out my bookcase (which is overflowing) and sending some of my books which will help with the cost :)

Do any of you mind winning a second hand book?

Any tips and tricks for a succesfull giveaway?

I shamelessly promoted my giveaway. Everytime I posted a comment at another blog I'd add at the bottom a link to my cool book depository INTL' contest. :P As well as that, I provided extra entries for those who went to the trouble of linking on twitter, made a button for people to link on their blog, and the sort. Many people don't like that and will do the bare minimum, but that's okay. There will always be people who will want to get in as many entries as possible, trust me.

I think it's great that you'd have this international... though I guess you don't have much of a choice, given your location. :P It depends on the books that you have up, I guess. So long as all the books are carefully taken care of, still in pretty good condition, provide any extra info (maybe a marking on the bottom of one book, or such) just so readers are aware.

Hmm that's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck with the contest, and since I'm a follower I'll definitely be able to enter when you post it up! :)

I don't mine as long as the book is in good shape. As far as the contest enteries, I started off with the whole tweet it, blog it stuff but soon I realize that I got a lot of followers but as soon as the contest was over or if they did not win, they stop following me. I deceided to stop all of that and just have a simple entery. Name, and email. Easy. And since I am leaving my contest open, I have gotten a lot more followers that way. I want people to come to my blog because if the content of it, not just for the giveaways.

As long as the book isn't a mess, it's totally ok to give secondhand books away! Just state in the post about your contest that it is a used copy. If it's a good book and it doesn't have rips, or water/food stains, it' all good :)

Thanks so much for all the advice guys!

Now I'm trying to find the best pricing for postage and for 100 followers :)
