You really hit the major ones -- I'm a wimp, so no scary books for me!

I haven't read any of those either! Heard that It and The Silence of the Lambs are both really creepy though.

Firestarter is a great book...the movie may have been the dumbest movie that has ever been made though so please don't compare. :)

Great list - some very good choices on it. I am Legend is on my TBR.

Peppermint Ph.D. - Firestarter is such a cheesy movie - does not compare well with the book at all.

Haven't read Let the Right One In, but I'm very curious. Is it pretty scary?

Never read the Diary of Ellen Rimbauer, either, but the movie was so, so much better than Rose Red.

I saw the Amityville Horror movie. I can imagine that the book was pretty creepy.I've heard good things about a few of these books on your list..especially Let The Right One In.

I've only read Dracula on that list, but I didn't find it all that scary. Mostly just... long. The first half is really cool though.

The last truly creepy book I read was House of Leave by Mark Z. Danielewski. Mostly great stuff, but it's no easy read.

I want to check out H.P Lovecraft though - he's supposed to be one of the masters.
