You know I am all for greaty literary books, but I admit I have not read some of these. Even back in school, I always read R.L. Stine, The Annimorphs, The Babysitters Club, Sweet Vally High, etc I hardly ever got into great english works. I tried but its just not me.

Oh gosh, I tried to read Atonement a couple of years back and I found it to be rather horrid.

I actually enjoyed To Kill A Mockingbird. The Catcher in the Rye is very "meh" to me. I don't think I'll ever see the huge appeal =]

I've read To Kill A Mockingbird and The Great Gatsby. Both for school. I liked both, but I hated analysing them! English class ruins everything.

I didn't like Atonement either. I could have added some of your other books to my list (Kite Runner, Geisha)

Go read Pride and Prejudice! I love that book so much, and now you have it on your list of shame there's no going back really ;)

Seconding Daisy here - definitely pick up Pride and Prejudice as soon as you can! It's absolutely excellent :)

Will do :)

Oooooh so many of these you really should move up on your TBR list! Pride and Prejudice, although cliche, is actually really excellent, and Kite Runner and Memoirs of a Geisha are really excellent, too, and Catcher in the Rye is one of my all-time favorites.

I enjoyed reading To Kill a Mockingbird in high school. I want to pick it up again and see if I still like it. I also mostly enjoyed The Kite Runner. But that's all I've read from your list as well... man this is shaming me.

To Kill a Mockingbird and P&P are actually two of those classic books that aren't as tedious or boring as you'd expect them to be. And Memoirs of a Geisha is very good, even if the ending is a bit frustrating.

Putting all of these on my wishlist on bookmooch/bookdepository ect :)

All my best readers at my school would always check out War of the Worlds. It was always returned unread. Just take a look at the very first sentence...daunting!

You've got some great books on this list. I should have added Atonement to mine too. Memoirs of a Geisha and The Kite Runner are both fabulous. You would really enjoy them. Same with P & P. Austen is at her best in that one, I think.
