The Life of Pi by Yann Martel is going to be directed by Ang Lee. The 3D film is due out in 2012. Stars have not yet been announced.
Definitely on my to-watch list :)

Wow, that sounds really interesting. I loved the book, and was actually lucky enough to listen to Yann Martel speak about it a couple of years ago. I'm not sure how good a movie they'll be able to make of it, but I'll have my eye on it, too.
